There are several low cost data recovery companies. Some of the cowboys try to convince new clients to send in hard drives because of the low price. Once the drive arrives they pressure the client into accepting a much higher price or they failed to mention although they do not charge a diagnostic fee, non-refundable parts charges can occur regardless if the recovery is successful or not. Others promise full services but have just a basic knowledge of data recovery and use software tools found on the internet to the best of their abilities, their lack of hard disk hardware knowledge can turn a drive which has minor mechanical problems into a complete failure, it is difficult without proper hardware tools to even tell the difference between a boot sector virus and degrading internal mechanical components. True data recovery professionals assume the worst and treat all cases with care, the next read from a drive could be its last! The Windows operating system is not the first thing a faulty drive should encounter as it tries to read several areas which could compromise drive integrity and cause further damage, many non-experienced recovery technicians try this first to disastrous consequences.
We hope you understand from the above paragraph that we do things differently. We are not magicians, our tools contain no magic, our procedures to assess the damage to a drive come from years of experience and research into the working of hard drives. We offer free diagnostic to cases which have not been looked at by other data recovery companies, for those which have been to our competitors there may be a charge which we will tell you of upfront and not later. We endeavour to give you a price range that is not impractical and will suit your budget and we do not charge excess to this except in rare circumstances in which we did not receive a true picture of the problems from the client. Not all hard drives can be 100% recovered due to areas on the disks which are physically damaged or unreadable due to overwriting, for this is beyond our control. This is why we ask for what is important to you and we try to get this data first. We are customer-oriented but also realistic and make no promises we cannot keep. We are also approachable and just a phone call away.
Try us, you'll be glad you did.
The Geeky Guys, an ace up your sleeve.
